Certifications & Qualifications

As the founder and primary caregiver behind Khala KaMwana Childcare Collective, I bring together my lived experience, professional background, academic knowledge, and certified training to create a standard of care that's trauma-informed, culturally grounded, spiritually rooted, and developmentally sound. With a background in Justice, law, psychology, social work, mental health and faith-based work, I approach childcare as a service and a calling. My qualifications reflect not only the safety and structure your child deserves, but also the emotional insight, behavioural support, developmental consciousness and spiritual depth that help children thrive.

I believe in leading KMCC with excellence, continued learning to aid my self/professional improvement, and aleways centering each child's unique identity and dignnity.

Intentional care means knowing how to meet a child’s needs — not just watch over them.”

Alongside certified training, I bring a diverse set of specialized skills shaped by my background in psychology, social work, and child development. These skills allow me to support children with emotional, sensory, behavioral, and spiritual needs — and to guide families through transitions, challenges, and growth.

Because children grow - so do I

I believe that the best caregivers are always learning. Alongside hands-on experience and formal certifications, I’m continually deepening my understanding of how children grow — emotionally, spiritually, and socially.

This work allows me to support families in a deeper, more meaningful way — combining evidence-based care with faith-rooted wisdom, emotional insight, and language that builds connection.

Because your child’s development isn’t one-dimensional — and neither is my approach to supporting it.
